We last spoke to you regarding Solar Light Batteries all the way back in the summer of 2021, it was a very different time; the UK was emerging from another lockdown and there was a growing smell of barques coming from residential gardens as the country became swept away in the epidemic of international football mania.
Because of this, you might have not contemplated what the lights scattered around your garden were distributing and therefore you might have forgotten the importance of making the switch from more traditional lights to more environmentally friendly ones.
2022 promises reasons to be an optimistic year regarding solar powered and environmentally friendly products. Other than the fact consumers are starting to garner a clear understanding of their carbon footprint, experts are coming up with new and exciting ways to still have the same unbeatable energy whilst simultaneously helping the environment.
Reducing your carbon footprint is extremely important at the moment. When you reduce your carbon footprint as well as helping to mitigate the ever-worsening effects of climate change, it surprisingly helps to boost the economy, purifies air quality and generally improves public health.
So if you have purchased our industry-leading 6v batteries or our 8 bay chargers and just so happen to have, or are thinking of having, solar lights installed in your garden, why not make the switch to our solar powered batteries in 2022?
At Vapextech, we pride ourselves on supporting environmental causes whilst never losing any of our previously established quality. Our undeniable quality is underpinned by the ISO 9001 accreditation we achieved back in 2000.
Quality assurance is a quality most battery companies would be proud of, but a lot of battery companies are not as quick to highlight how they support and implement ways to help reduce our carbon footprint. We are compliant with the Environment Agency for Battery Recycling.
Accompanying this, is our obligation to follow the WEE regulations. Even though we are obligated to adhere to this, we very much support this scheme. From this, you now might start to understand how being more environmentally friendly is very important to us.
Just because these surprisingly long life batteries are environmentally friendly doesn’t mean that they do not offer a lot of benefits to customers.
So, if you have solar lights in your garden or you have even started to distribute solar lights around your home, let’s quickly highlight the benefits you will see from the frequently mentioned batteries and our industry-leading batteries:
Before people commit to the all important solar lights purchase, they might be asking themselves, how do these actually work? Well, we could get very technical but let’s have a quick runthrough of how these relatively new lights work.
Solar lights draw on the batteries that are stored in the solar panel. The batteries collect and store energy throughout the day as the sun shines on them.
You might be asking, does that mean the lights will only work when the sun is shining? The short answer is no. The batteries not only absorb the energy from the sun but they repurpose it so the energy can be used at any time. This is especially helpful when most modern solar lights come equipped with a convenient on/off switch making them very similar to more traditional garden lights.
I think it is time to address the elephant in the room, many of you will be asking if solar powered products are reliant on sunlight and what happens to them during the colder and darker months?
This rather topical question does seem of paramount importance right now as anyone who has lived in the UK could testify, the winter months do not get an over abundance of sunlight, even if so far we have been blessed with an unusual amount of sun for this time of year. The answer to this question is; it depends on the lights you purchased, but normally yes.
More high quality and modern solar lights will be perfectly fine, in fact they will work just as well if not better than other garden lights. But some of the older solar powered lights are heavily reliant on the power of the sun and because of this, the lights could run out of power when you have a longer stretch of very dull days. This is becoming less and less common however so this is nothing to be overly worried about.
A potential hazard of having lights, including solar lights, outside is they are very much exposed to the elements. Over the course of the winter, there will be all matter of dirt, varying temperatures as well as being left rather exposed to any potential accidents. This is very problematic when you would obviously like to protect the recent purchase you are so proud of.
Solar lights are waterproof and they are surprisingly strong which means they can be left outside even during more abnormal temperatures. We might suggest however, the lights are sometimes better off being taken indoors as afterall, it is safer to have them there.
If you are looking to have solar powered lights installed in your garden, or better yet, if you already have them, why not try out our solar light batteries today!
